Grandison Vaughan

Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Grandison “Grandy” Vaughan, 71, of Ozark, Arkansas died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Ozark.

He was a U.S. Air Force retiree and Vietnam veteran (537th, 1969) and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Born May 10, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of R.G. and Martha Silverthorn Vaughan.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Isley Vaughan; a daughter, Teresa Wells of Rockledge, Fla.; a son, Chris Vaughan of Muskogee, Okla.; a brother, John E. Vaughan of Tulsa, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were at at 1 p.m. on January 8, 2009 at Houston Cemetery, Alix, with Mark Stanberry officiating. Burial was under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Pallbearers were members of the former musical group he played with, also his grandchildren, Steven and Andrew Wells, Christopher Vaughan II and Loxanna and Amanda Vaughan.
