Mike Murphy

Born Chicago, Illinois 1932. Graduated Fenwick H.S, Oak Park, Il. 1950.

Entered the USAF as an Airman in April 1952.

Attended Aviation Cadets graduating as a B-26 Navigator Bombardier in 1953.

Served in Korea after the conflict.

Graduated from Pilot Training in 1957.

Pilot C-124’s and C-133’s

Attended the Royal Canadian Staff College in 1964.

Graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1968.

Caribou Pilot Phu Cat 537th TAS 1968/69.  Chief Pilot for the 537th.

Air Force Studies and Analysis, Pentagon 1969-1972.

Joint Staff, 1972-1975.

Retired from Hq MAC 1978 as a Colonel.  Deputy Chief of Staff Ops Plans.

Went to work for the Emerson Electric Co in 1978 and retired from there as the Vice President of Business Development in 1996.

For the past ten years have done volunteer work with the AARP Tax Aide Program providing free Income Tax service to elderly and low-income people.

Married to Mary Ellen Clark in 1953…
Three children all married and have ten Grandchildren.

I have been attending reunions since the mid 70’s and I can provide the time and energy to keep the Caribou Association a viable organization.
